Tippecanoe Celebration of Recovery Rally

Tippecanoe Celebration of Recovery Rally (TCORR) is an annual 'recovery month' themed celebration of the individual, family, and community victories we have seen in combating alcohol and other drugs as well as mental health issues. It is hosted by a group of community volunteers and providers.

The celebration brings people in long-term recovery for alcohol and other drug and/or mental health disorders together with their families and the broader community. The celebration promotes the success of recovery and reinforces the fact that people in recovery are assets to their community. The event helps reduce stigma, unite the recovery communities of North Central Indiana, and show people who still struggle with drug addiction and mental health issues that there is hope.

This event occurs annually in September (National Recovery Month).

Training

Peer-Based Recovery Support (PBRS) roles such as a Recovery Coaches (CAPRC) or Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) are state-certified credentials. These certifications empower individuals with lived experience to seek employment aimed at providing hope, mentorship, and linkage to services to those experiencing severe alcohol abuse and drug addiction and/or mental health issues.

“The advent of peer recovery support services is an important milestone within the history of addiction treatment and recovery. Such services stand as potentially important resources to speed recovery initiation, enhance service retention in addiction treatment and facilitate the transitions to recovery maintenance, enhance the quality of personal/family life in long-term recovery, and support efforts to break intergenerational cycles of addiction and related problems.”
