Nate Metz

Nathaniel is the President and CEO of Phoenix Paramedic Solutions, a diversified EMS agency operating in the State of Indiana that provides a diversity of healthcare services including E-911, non-emergency medical transports, Community Paramedicine for hospitals and communities, and Occupational Health solutions for industrial and commercial clients.

Initially working in a hospital setting as a Nurses Aid and in nursing school, then as an EKG Tech in the ICU, to earning his EMT-B and ultimately his Paramedic certification, Nathaniel’s healthcare career has grown through his experiences in caring for patients. Nathaniel is also certified as a CHW as part of Phoenix Recovery Solutions. Prior to founding Phoenix Paramedic Solutions, Nathaniel served as the Vice-President of Operations for Prompt Ambulance Service, at that time the largest private EMS agency in the State of Indiana.

Nathaniel is recognized internationally as a leader and advocate for the proliferation of Community Paramedicine models to extend access to care in underserved communities and to address critical gaps in our current healthcare system. Nathaniel has been an invited speaker at the IRCP in Melbourne Australia, EMS World each of the past 5 years, at the Zoll Summit in Colorado, and at the Hennepin Community Paramedicine Conference in Minnesota.

Cheyenne Wuebker, EMT, CRS/CHW

Cheyenne is the Director of our Addictions Services Program. Though she has been an EMT for 8 years she has been part of the QRT/Phoenix Recovery Solutions since its inception in 2018. She recently acquired an associate’s degree from Ball State where she intends to pursue a Batchelor’s in criminal justice. Cheyenne devotes time to tutoring EMT students in the community, is a CPR instructor, and serves as a mentor.

Cheyenne and her husband Adam recently added Wrenley Renee to their family. In her spare time, Cheyenne enjoys going to church, playing with her cats, reading, writing, camping, and spending time with her family.

Dock Henry, CAPRC I, CRS/CHW

Dock is the  Peer Support Supervisor for Phoenix Paramedic Solutions. He has been working in the field of addiction recovery for over 4 years and is a person in long-term recovery. He is passionate about helping others get into recovery and enjoys making connections with people within the community as well as serving his community. In his spare time, Dock enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing, and reading.

Colby Reel, EMT, CRS/CHW

Colby oversees the Occupational Health Division at Phoenix. He has been an EMT for 18 years. He has been instrumental in assisting Phoenix in developing employee wellbeing and recovery programs both for our in-house staff and for Employee Recovery Programs aimed at promoting retention and health in the manufacturing industry.

Colby is attending Ivy Tech online classes and majoring in psychology. Colby wishes to work as a psychologist taking a special interest in trauma, family, and individual counseling. In his spare time, Colby enjoys going to church, volunteering in his community, spending time with family.  His most recent volunteer role finds him chairing the newly formed TCOR Board of Directors.

Valerie Clark, EMT-B, CHW, AS

Valerie is our Chief Administrative Officer, She has been an EMT for 11 years. Val began her medical career in the U.S. Army, where she served for 9 years as a combat medic. Valerie obtained her CHW to continue to assist her community in as many ways as possible. Valerie has been managing Phoenix Paramedic Solutions since its inception in 2018 and brought with her the knowledge she gained from managing staff under Prompt Ambulance Central. In her free time, Valerie enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and watching horror movies.

Jason Padgett. CRS/CHW

Jason was one of the founding members of the QRT and has been heavily involved in many of the Recovery Oriented Systems of Care development projects in Tippecanoe County.  He currently serves as the Client and Community Engagement Officer at Phoenix.  His responsibilities center around building and maintaining community relationships through collaboration with other agencies.  Jason is a person in long-term recovery who loves spending time with his family.  He has two children at Purdue, one in elementary school, and his wife is a social worker.  Jason’s interests include professional development, yoga, exercise, and he loves big dogs (including Nova our in-house service pup).

Paris Forman, EMT, CRS/CHW

Paris is a compassionate, caring EMT who became a CRS and joined the QRT in hopes of helping people put their lives back together. Paris is no stranger to struggles with mental health and wellbeing. She believes everyone deserves quality care and companionship on their journey to recovery. She enjoys fishing, D.IY. projects around the house, and spending time with her family and two dogs Nellie and Judd.

Michael Truner, CRS/CHW

Michael is a person in long-term recovery. He began his work helping others as the Resident Manager for a recovery residence that offered shelter and growth opportunities for men seeking recovery. “Phoenix has provided me with the tools to succeed and continue to nurture and invest in both my personal and professional growth.”

Michael’s interests include video games, anime, pop culture, and music. He enjoys spending time with family and friends when not binge-watching or gaming.

He feels the most valuable thing you can give the people you care about is time. Offering that it costs nothing and is worth everything at the same time. 

Michael’s favorite quote is ‘I am Iron Man.’ His youth shines in the fact that he attributes that line to Robert Downey Jr. rather than Black Sabbath.

Cynthia LeBlanc, CRS/CHW

Cynthia is a Certified Recovery Specialist.  She is a person in long-term recovery from both mental health and substance use disorder. Cynthia is passionate about driving people to strive for their best, healthy selves and exploring the many pathways to recovery with them.  She firmly believes in helping others in need, providing resources, and assisting the community. Cynthia tries to lead by example and personify recovery.  She has been a member of Phoenix Paramedics and the QRT team since the beginning of August 2021. Cynthia is also enrolled in the next EMT class and looks forward to her certification as an EMT-basic. Cynthia loves being a mom and wife to a beautiful family, reading, dancing, and enjoying any outdoor adventures.

Garret Newhard, CRS/CHW

Garrett is a member of the QRT team. His journey with Phoenix began as an intern where he quickly learned that he had an ability to reach out and help others. Garrett is a passionate and empathetic person who is persistently working to improve his own mental health and wellbeing. He truly believes that there is good in everyone and that everybody deserves a chance to better themselves. He enjoys fishing, camping, video games, and spending quality time with his family.

Britnee Richter, EMT-B, CRS/CHW

Britnee has been in EMS for 6 years and is currently working as a CRS with Phoenix Paramedic Solutions’ QRT. She joined the QRT in hopes of helping others in her community on their path to recovery, regardless of what that path may look like for each individual. She is extremely passionate about connecting people in need to resources and bearing witness to them finding their voice and empowering themselves. In her spare time, she enjoys helping new parents as a birth doula and educator, reading, and spending time outside with her family and dogs.

Jenna Forney, CAPRC I

Jenna is a person in long term recovery from substance use and mental health issues. Her recovery is grounded in 12 step recovery and medication assisted treatment (MAT).  She believes the combination saved her life.  She  to be a voice for those who can't be heard and help those who don't know which way to turn and are desperate for help. Jenna enjoys thrifting, antiques, and collecting old carnival glass. She loves her dog Doodle and considers him one of the family. One of my favorite poems is by William E. Henley titled Invictus the last sentences are

Jordan Meyers, EMT-B, CRS/CHW

Jordan has been in EMS for 3 years/ She began her career as a dispatcher and become an EMT 2 years ago and CRS this year! She’s a caregiver at heart and enjoys providing for the community in any way possible. Jordan and her fiance TJ, also an EMT, recently became the proud parents of a little girl. She’s a dog mom to two black labs, Marley and Finley. When not working or ‘momming’ she enjoys DIY projects, woodburning, and cooking.

Katrina Darling, CAPRC I, BA

Katrina joined the Phoenix Paramedic Solutions and Quick Response Team in July of 2021.  She currently holds her CAPRC 1, Insurance Navigator, CPC, RHIA, and a Bachelors of Medical Administration from Rasmussen College.  Katrina is no stranger to mental health challenges.  She strives to grow and succeed in navigating life by giving back to her coworker and in the community.  She wears her compassion and unconditional support on her sleeve.  Kartina’s personal struggles with mental health are have been coupled with challenges supporting her family through their mental health and addictions battles.  Katrina loves crafting, bingo, shopping, and bargain hunting. She’s never happier than when spending time with her kids and grandkids.  Her love for travel is how she met her spouse who is a Canadian.

Ashlee Heminger, CAPRC I

Ashlee is a dispatcher and CAPRC I, Peer for Phoenix Paramedic Solutions. She has been involved in social work for almost a decade, has a B.S. in Psychology, and has worked for Phoenix since June of 2021. She believes in supporting clients by assisting them in finding the pathways that will best support their recovery goals for long-term success and happiness. Ashlee enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, writing, and she loves to learn. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) in order to become a therapist.

Nick Cunningham

Nick is a person of long-term recovery for both mental health and substance use disorders. He believes that mental illness and substance abuse go hand in hand. He participates in a 12 Step Program for his substance use disorder and receives mental health guidance through a local behavioral health provider. He recently got his certification as a CRS, Certified Recovery Specialist, and started his career as a Peer Specialist with the Quick Response Team at Phoenix Paramedic Solutions.  Nick also works at LTHC as the Veteran’s Program Case Manager.

Nova Lee

Nova is a young Golden Doodle who lives to comfort those in need. She was raised by the Phoenix staff and is truly one of our team. Though she has not yet been through formal therapy dog training, she has keen senses and just seems to know when someone needs a little affection.
